Quick summary ↝What Meta Creator Marketplace is, what Instagram's help pages say about availability in India, the four eligibility requirements, how to join step by step, and a copy-paste portfolio description.

Instagram Creator Marketplace India: Is It Available and How to Join

Quick answer: Meta Creator Marketplace is Instagram's own tool for brands to find creators and message them about paid work. Meta announced its expansion to India on 21 February 2024, and Instagram's eligibility page says it is open to eligible creators "in all countries where Meta advertising operates". The same page lists four requirements: 18 or older, a professional public account, at least 1,000 followers, and agreeing to the partner monetization policies. Every help page still carries the line "This product or feature may not be available to you yet", so if the Join button is missing from your Professional dashboard, that is the official explanation.

What Meta Creator Marketplace is

Instagram's help page puts it in one sentence: "Creator Marketplace helps creators connect with brands and partner on branded content and partnership ads." For a creator it has three parts:

  • A listing. Once you join, brands "can discover you for branded content partnerships on Instagram", see your posts, average reach and follower count, and message you.
  • A portfolio. A page inside Instagram with a cover image, text, selected posts and Reels, and brands you have worked with.
  • A projects board. Brands post what they want, the posting date and the offered payment. You tap "I'm interested".

The brand side is called Meta Creator Marketing Hub. Instagram says it "can be accessed in Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager" and "helps brands discover and evaluate creators". If you want the plain meaning of branded content and the Paid partnership label first, read what a brand collaboration means.

Is Creator Marketplace available in India?

First, the announcement. On 21 February 2024 Meta's newsroom wrote: "Now, we're expanding the creator marketplace to eight new markets." The post says Meta would invite creators and brands based in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Japan, India and Brazil.

Second, the eligibility page. It says "Creator Marketplace is available to eligible creators worldwide in all countries where Meta advertising operates", and names only Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Russia as places where it is not available. India is not excluded.

Then the caveat at the top of every Creator Marketplace help page: "This product or feature may not be available to you yet." The joining steps repeat it: "If you don't see this option, this means the feature isn't available to you yet." Instagram publishes no date, rollout percentage or waitlist for India, so we will not invent one. If you meet every requirement below and the button is still missing, check again after each app update.

Eligibility requirements, from Instagram's own page

The eligibility page lists exactly four conditions. Nothing about niche, engagement rate or verification appears there. Use this as a checklist before you look for the button.

Requirement (Instagram's words)How to check it on your account
"Creators must be at least 18 years old."The date of birth on your account must make you 18 or older.
"Creators must have a professional, public Instagram account."Settings, then account type. A personal account does not qualify. Switch to Creator or Business and make sure the account is not private.
"Creators must have a minimum of 1,000 followers."Your follower count on your profile. This is the only number on the page.
"Creators must agree to our partner monetization policies."You accept them during the join flow. Read them before tapping Accept.

Everything below happens inside the Professional dashboard, which a personal account does not have. If you are under 1,000 followers, our step by step profile guide covers the bio, highlights and pinned posts that make an account worth finding.

Not in the marketplace yet? Get listed where brands are already looking. On InfluencerMetric, brands find and book creators directly. Connect your Instagram to show verified stats, and payment is held until your work is approved.

Create your free creator profile

How to join Creator Marketplace, step by step

Instagram describes two routes. The first is an invitation: "Creators will be invited to onboard if you meet the eligibility requirements for Creator Marketplace." You tap Accept invite at the top of your profile or in your feed, then Next, then Join now.

The second route works even if you dismissed the invitation or never received one:

  1. On your profile, tap Professional dashboard.
  2. Tap Branded content, then tap Join creator marketplace. If this option is not there, the feature is not available to you yet.
  3. Tap Accept to make your information and insights visible to brands and allow them to message you through a new Partnership messages folder.
  4. Tap Accept changes.
  5. Review and accept the Terms.

After joining, the Branded content screen shows a Creator marketplace section where, in Instagram's words, "you'll be able to discover projects, set up your creator portfolio, or select preferred brand partners".

Do the preferred brand partners step on day one. Instagram says "The brands you select will see you below Interested creators when searching for creators." To leave later, go to Partner discovery settings under Branded content and tap Opt out; you can join again at any time.

The Partnership messages folder

This is where the money conversation happens. Instagram explains: "When you receive your first partnership message, you'll gain access to a new messages folder on Instagram." It sits at the top of your inbox, next to the General and Request tabs, and appears only after a participating brand has messaged you. Brands can also send you a project through it, and you reply inside the app.

Keep its notifications on; Instagram recommends it. What you say in that folder is a normal negotiation. The reply scripts in how to approach brands for collaboration work here word for word, and Instagram collaboration rates in India gives you the numbers to quote back.

Your creator portfolio

Instagram calls the portfolio "a way to show brands what makes you unique as a creator and stand out for brand deals". It will also "feature badges on your responsiveness and partnership ads experience". You must have joined Creator Marketplace to create one.

Path: Professional dashboard, Branded content, Creator portfolio. Choose a cover image, then add sections. Instagram offers three types:

  • Text: "Describe your work."
  • Posts: "Share your posts and Reels to show brands the type of content you like to create."
  • Profiles: "Share the profiles of people and brands you have worked with."

Tap Save. One detail trips people up: "By default, your creator portfolio will only be visible to you." Tap Change visibility, or brands will never see it.

Copy-paste portfolio description (three sentences, adapt the brackets)

I make [format, for example 30 to 60 second Reels] about [niche] for [who watches, for example working women in Tier 2 cities who cook on weekdays]. My audience is [X]% from India, mostly [age range], and my last 30 days averaged [reach] reach per Reel with a [Y]% engagement rate. I deliver on the agreed date, include one revision round, and tag every paid post with the Paid partnership label.

Fill the numbers from your Insights tab, not from memory. The free engagement rate calculator gives you the engagement figure in a minute. The same three sentences belong at the top of your media kit; how to make an influencer media kit covers the rest of that document.

How brands find creators in the marketplace

From Meta's newsroom post, a brand inside Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager can:

  • Search. "Brands can also search for creators, filtering for creator and audience attributes."
  • Review interest. "They can also see a list of creators who have expressed interest and check out creator portfolios."
  • Get recommendations. Meta said it was testing machine learning recommendations that use Instagram data.
  • Post projects. Each project shows a description, "The number of reels, posts or stories the brand would like created", "The date to post the content" and "The offered payment".

Projects come in two kinds. Instagram says "Negotiable means the brand may customize some details for individual creators, for example, the content requested or what you'll earn." Fixed means "changes can't be made to the content requested or what you'll earn", although you can still discuss details. When you tap "I'm interested" you join a list the brand reviews; if they want you, they invite you through Partnership messages.

What to do if you cannot access it yet

A missing Join button removes one channel, not your income. Four things work today:

  • List yourself where brands already search. On InfluencerMetric, brands find and book creators, you show verified stats by connecting your Instagram, and payment is held until your work is approved. Counted on 12 October 2026, creators list 173 packages at a median of ₹2,500, with the middle half between ₹1,000 and ₹5,000.
  • Pitch brands yourself. How to approach brands for collaboration has the DM and email scripts and the follow up.
  • Carry a media kit. Brands that cannot see you in a marketplace need a one page PDF with your numbers. The media kit guide shows the layout.
  • Know your price before anyone asks. Instagram collaboration rates in India has the per Reel, post and Story medians, and the creator pricing calculator adjusts them for your engagement and niche.

Whichever route a deal arrives through, disclosure is the same. Instagram's page reminds you to "always disclose your branded content with the paid partnership label", and Indian rules add their own labels, covered in the #ad rules for Indian influencers.

Brands are booking Indian creators right now. Build your profile in ten minutes, connect Instagram for verified stats, and let brands come to you with payment held until approval.
